How is HPL made?
HPL consists of different materials. First, various layers of paper are soaked in resin and stacked. A decorative layer is applied on top of this. This decorative layer is very important, because it gives each HPL product its unique character. This decorative layer can represent anything, such as a trendy color pattern or imitations of wood, stone, or metal.

After this, a hard layer of transparent synthetic resin is applied. Subsequently, these layers are pressed together under very high pressure (High Pressure) to form a hard plate, which is finally glued to a substrate of, for example, plywood or MDF.

How strong is HPL?
HPL is to a certain extent resistant to scratches and high temperatures. But the material cannot withstand brutal force and sharp objects. Aggressive cleaning and scouring agents can also damage the material or cause it to turn dull.

Regular cleaning contributes to a longer life of HPL, because the dirt is then easily removed. To do this, use a solution of mild soap or another mild detergent and a soft cloth or brush.
